Central Branch Meeting ay Wragby, 8th March 2014

Another pleasent day out to ring on the six at All Saints, Wragby. I arrived late as usual, but found several people in the church having tea and coffee, so I joined them.

At a convenient point in the ringing, I went up to the Ringing room where the Ringing Master, Richard Spencer, was looking after things. I rang some Plain Bob Minor and some Cambridge Surprise. Jim Sutherland requested some Bourne Surprise, but at that moment there were not enough people in the ringing room who knew it. "People today just don't know their Bourne!" uttered the webmaster. Hmmm! Time to leave!

Down in the church, Joan and John Ketteringham had arrived and Joan had brought cake! Some more coffee and tea (and cake) were consumed while the last of the ringing took place. When the ringers came down into the church, there was a short business meeting.

The main item under consideration was a request from St. Mary-le-Wigford for a grant towards some new ropes. A sum of 75 was proposed and seconded and agreed by the members present.

Clarification was sought as to who was now editing the Central Branch Newsletter. It was confirmed that Gill Gladman is taking over from Margaret Parker. Items can be submitted either by post or E-mail, but e-mails should be directed to the Secretary, Fiona Dawson, and clearly marked as items for the newsletter.

There was no other business and the members made their way home.
