Method "blue line" diagrams

Clickable links are provided above (or will be) for the majority of the proposed methods shown, particularly ones not in the current RW Diary. It is assumed that people will already know or have a blue line for Grandsire and similar. If you require a blue line for which no link is shown, try the Visual Method Archive (opens in new window).

Branch events

Please check in The Ringing World or with the appropriate Branch website or Secretary for further information.

Mid-week Practices

The idea of the above programme is to try and advance all our Tuesday ringing meetings and not to frighten people away. We will still continue to ring our usual methods and include the new methods wherever possible.

The new Major methods are the 8ths place variations of the standard methods (i.e. Plain Hunt at the lead end).

If you would like to ring any other surprise methods please ask and we will do our best to include them. If you have any questions please email

Joint Surprise Major Practices

Occasional Surprise Major practices are arranged between the Northern and West Lindsey Branches. If you are interested in supporting these please contact one of these Branch Secretaries for details, but please do remember that they are Surprise Major practices, so do not turn up expecting to ring Bob Minor! We need to look after and challenge our more advanced ringers, and these busy practices serve that need across a wide area. Dates when known are included in the table above.

Surprise Royal Practices (2nd Saturdays 1030–1200)

Methods to be practised are: Cambridge, Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, London, Bristol and Littleport Little Surprise Royal; spliced Cambridge, Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. Littleport Little is a method which will help us all to progress to Bristol Royal and beyond as five leads are Bristol Major.

A small donation will be required to cover tower donations. If you have any questions please email n

South Lincolnshire Wednesday Group

If you do not regularly attend these practices please email for any changes to this schedule.

Other Regular Practices

On the second Wednesday in each month from 1030 to 1200 a practice is held on the six bells at Wragby for 'mature' students as Jim calls them.

The Ladies have their own practice on the first Wednesday of each month starting at 1330. If you are eligible and would like to attend please email for details of the venue.
